Sebelum dinyatakan jatuh maskapai Lion Air banyak dikeluhkan oleh penumpangnya karena sejumlah penerbangan maskapai berlogo singa terbang ini ditunda dan dibatalkan.
Pesawat Lion Air dengan nomor penerbangan JT 610 hilang kontak pada Senin pagi (29/10). Pesawat tersebut diketahui bertolak dari Bandara Soekarno-Hatta pada pukul 06:10 WIB dengan tujuan Pangkal Pinang. Menurut jadwal, Lion Air JT 610 seharusnya mendarat di Pangkal Pinang pada pukul 07:20 WIB. Informasi dari Flightradar24 menyebutkan jejak pesawat tersebut berakhir di sekitar Perairan Tanjung Karawang.
Waspada, beredar 2 kabar hoax terkait peristiwa pesawat udara Lion Air JT-610 yang jatuh. Setelah peristiwa jatuhnya pesawat Lion Air JT610 di perairan Karawang, Jawa Barat pada Senin (29/10/2018), muncul sejumlah unggahan yang menampilkan suasana detik-detik sebelum pesawat jatuh.

Di media sosial juga beredar foto-foto yang yang memperlihatkan detik-detik penumpang melakukan aksi swafoto ketika memakai masker oksigen. Seperti yang diunggah akun Aryani Lovitha melalui Facebook pribadinya ini.
Belum bisa dipastikan soal identitas ataupun kebenaran dari foto-foto ini. Namun tampak memang penumpang seperti sedang menghadapi saat-saat kepanikan sebelum jatuh.
Pelaksana Tugas Kepala Biro Humas Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika Ferdinandus Setu menyatakan bahwa foto tersebut adalah hoaks atau pemberitaan yang tidak benar."Foto selfie yang diduga korban di pesawat Lion Air JT610 ini merupakan hoaks," ujar Ferdinandus.
Adapun pemberitaan yang benar, yakni foto tersebut merupakan penumpang dari penerbangan Sriwijaya Air saat terjadi turbulance di udara."Faktanya ini merupakan penumpang Sriwijaya Air saat terjadi turbulence di udara," ujar Ferdinandus
2. Video situasi di dalam kabin
Selain itu, muncul juga unggahan berupa video yang menunjukkan situasi detik-detik kejadian pesawat Lion Air JT610 jatuh. Dalam video tersebut, nampak kondisi kabin gelap gulita dan terdengar beberapa penumpang sedang mengucapkan doa-doa keselamatan.
Menurut klarifikasi Beliau, ternyata fakta dari apa yang terjadi dalam unggahan video itu merupakan kejadian penerbangan Lion Air JT353 tujuan Padang-Jakarta yang terkendala turbulance. "Video yang beredar ini adalah penerbangan Lion Air JT353 tujuan Padang-Jakarta yang mengalami turbulance, mesin mati, dan lainnya," kata pak Ferdinandus, dilansir kompas.com.
Kemudian, pihak Kemenkominfo mendapatkan laporan penyebaran video situasi di dalam kabin pesawat JT610 ini sekitar pukul 15.00 WIB. Ferdinandus juga menyampaikan, pihak Kemenkominfo mencoba mencari tahu sumber unggahan tersebut melalui mesin pengais konten.
