Kadang ia tidak tidur selama tiga hari dan diantar pulang oleh sang petugas tersebut.

Sebelum ditangkap, Haikal sudah menjadi buron selama berbulan-bulan. Pihak kepolisian kesusahan mencari sosoknya karena ia selalu berpindah-pindah tempat. Setelah dibekuk, ia dijerat hukuman 8 tahun penjara atau denda paling banyak Rp800 juta. Hal tersebut merujuk pada UU ITE. Ia juga melanggar pasal tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Pencucian Uang, serta Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik. Namun, sosoknya ternyata banyak dibela oleh netizen. Mereka menganggap Haikal sebagai aset negara yang harus diselamatkan. Keluar dari penjara dan disambut baik oleh netizen
Pada akhir September lalu, kakak perempuan Haikal mengunggah sebuah video yang menampakkan sosok hacker tampan tersebut yang baru keluar dari penjara. Setelah 1 tahun 6 bulan di ranah hukum, akhirnya sosok ini kembali lagi dan disambut oleh keluarga besarnya. Tak hanya sang kakak saja, Haikal juga mengunggah beberapa potret dalam instagram pribadinya. Sontak saja, ia mendapat banyak sambutan hangat dari netizen yang mengucapkan ‘welcome back Sultan Haikal!’. Menurut pengakuan sang kakak, Shabrina Jasmine, dulu adiknya ini memang bekerja untuk melakukan perlindungan kepada beberapa situs website yang memungkinkan diretas.
