Pria yang memiliki nama asli Rudolf Canesius Soemolang Wowor diketahui mengidap penyakit kanker prostat.
Sebelum menghembuskan nafas terakhir, Rudy Wowor sempat mendapatkan perawatan terakhir di Rumah Sakit Melia Cibubur, Jakarta Timur.
Aktor senior tersebut mengehmbuskan nafas terakhirnya pada hari Jumat (5/10/2018) jam 07/30 WIB.
Dikutp TribunStyle dari Grid.ID, kondisi kediaman duka di rumah Rudy Wowor di daerah Margonda, Depok, Jawa Barat tampak dihadiri keluarga dan kerabat dekat.
Ketika mobil yang membawa jenazah Rudy Wawor datang, para keluarga tampak berkumpul di ruang tengah sambil menanti jenazah.
Jenazah pun diletakkan di atas meja berbentuk persegi panjang.
Anak ke-2 Rudy Wowor, Michael Wowor, tampak tak bisa membendung air mata saat melihat jenazah.
Para keluarga meminta untuk membuka kain putih yang menutupi wajah Rudy Wowor karena ingin melihat wajah almarhum untuk yang terakhir kalinya.
"Jangan ada air mata yang kena ke jenazah," ujar salah seorang keluarga saat dipantau Grid.ID di lokasi rumah duka di Depok, Jawa Barat, Jumat (5/10/2018).
Dikutip dari Kompas.com, anak Rudi Wowor juga sempat mengatakan bahwa penanganan terhadap ayahnya terhitung terlambat.
"Sakit kanker prostat. Penyakitnya sudah lama, cuma baru ketahuan kurang lebih dua tahun lalu," kata Michael Wowor, di rumah duka di Perumahan Pesona Kahyangan Blok DC, Depok, Jawa Barat, Jumat siang.
Karena itu, penanganan terhadap mendiang ayahnya terbilang terlambat hingga stadiumnya sudah mencapai puncak.
Michael mengatakan, Rudy Wowor sudah pernah mendapat perawatan sebuah rumah sakit di Penang, Malaysia.
"Saya kira stadium empat udah paling parah loh. Ternyata ada istilah dokter lain advan gitu. Setiap bawa Papa ke rumah sakit, dokter kayak bingung ini sakitnya udah berapa lama. Cuma penanganan Papa memang telat sih," ujar Michael.
Setelah sempat sempat hari mendapatkan perawatan.
Kondisi terakhir sebelum meninggal dunia, Rudy Wowor sudah tidak bisa jalan lagi.
Hal tersebut sempat diucapkan secara langsung oleh anaknya.
