Lewat captionnya, Hengky menjelaskan bahwa mobil mewah itu bukanlah kepunyaannya, melainkan milik sahabatnya yang kini telah menjadi seorang pengusaha sukses.
"Bingung mau pake mobil yang mana? Jangan nyinyir ya.. ini punya sahabat saya Ajik pemilik toko oleh2 Krisna Bali. Berawal dari tukang sablon kaos, tidur di post satpam, sekarang menjadi sukses. Ini yang harus kita contoh untuk memotivasi kita. Siapapun bisa sukses.. tergantung mindset kita. Tanggal 23 beliau akan berbagi kisah suksesnya kepada anak muda di KBB dan pelaku UMKM di KBB," tulis Hengky Kurniawan di akun Instagramnya.
Sayangnya banyak netizen julid yang merespon postingan Hengky Kurniawan tersebut dengan komentar negatif. Sebagai seorang Wakil Walikota, Hengky dinilai malah pamer mobil mewah di saat masyarakat di daerah lain sedang tertimpa musibah. Suami artis Sonya Fatmala itu pun dinilai tidak memberikan contoh yang baik sebagai pemimpin. Meski begitu, Hengky tetap menanggapi kritik tersebut dengan bijak.
"Yah jadi artis aja dik @hengkykurniawan sebagai pejabat pelayan masyarakat harus punya empati dengan bencana di daerah lainnya. Bukan dengan memposting ginian. Ini masukan ya," kritik seorang netizen. "Lihat postingan saya di bawah. Kita peduli palu dll. Insha Allah lita bekerja untuk masyarakat dan kemanusiaan," jawab Hengky Kurniawan.
"Jadilah pemimpin yang sederhana sebagaimana Rosulullah telah contohkan. Hati2 jadi pemimpin itu berat tanggung jawabnya dunia akhirat.
